Case Study: Psychological Effects of House Construction on Pre-K Aged Children
Okay, I know I promised that the next post would be all about the second story, and it will....as long as by "next" you realise I mean the next one after this one.
I've found it very interesting to see how The Children have reacted to this whole process. Zoƫ, other than being frustrated by all the time spent in the car seems largely unaffected. Noah is quite a different story. He finds the whole process fascinating and scary and strange and exciting all at the same same time and it manifests itself in some interesting and unexpected ways.
For example, when Christmas was over and it was time to dispose of the completely stale gingerbread house, Noah took a small plastic hammer, wrench, and saw and systematically demolished the house, knocking down walls and ceilings and chimneys and prying off pepermint sticks and gumdrops until it was completely pulverized into gingerbread powder. Hey, it probably saved us a few grand in therapy down the road.
Thankfully, we've moved on to the building part, so for Valentine's Day, Noah took the Valentines he was supposed to be writing for his friends and built this:

Should I be concerned or impressed?
Next time: The Second Story (no, really!)
